We know it's kind of a shock, but yes we're going to be missionaries! We're going down to Belize in March to look at a ministry opportunity there at the Belize Mission and Retreat Center . We really feel like this is where God is calling us.
We haven't gone crazy! We believe ministry is something all Christians are called to do, wherever it may be. Jesus told His disciples to go out and make disciples of all nations. Over and over in the bible it talks about helping the less fortunate.
We'll both be sharing a lot more about what we've learned and what the bible says about helping people and about what it really means to follow Him in later posts. There's a LOT to share!
In Matthew 4 Jesus is calling people, disciples, to follow Him. 4:18-20 'One day as Jesus was walking along the shore of the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers - Simon, also called Peter, and Andrew - throwing a net into the water, for they fished for a living. Jesus called out to them, "Come follow me and I will show you how to fish for people!" And they left their nets at once and followed Him.'
So that's what we're doing, leaving our 'nets' behind and following Him.
